The road to Milford Sound took us though towering snow-capped, black cliffs with dozens of waterfalls just spilling off the tops. Unfortunately, the sheer height and impressiveness is very hard to show in photographs.

The Kea, an Alpine parrot, very cheeky and aggressive, tried to eat all the rubber from our car door... you can see him eyeing my pink hat as a tasty snack..

Ah..the sand fly.. i swear this is their real life size....(or at least how their bite feels!)

Our boat to explore the famous Milford Sound.

Lauren and our incredible view. The peaks are as high as 5 Empire State buildings stacked on top of each other!

They would steer the boat right up to the face of the cliff and let the waterfalls crash onto the deck! I guess the mountain underneath the water drops off just a straight and deep as the face rising above us.

It was just a
bit cold and wet..

Sails up, heading towards the Tasman sea.!

Powerful falls, gorgeous green and mist.
