We set out on a bus ride for hours through rolling hills of green and spectacular glimpses of coastline. Kids in uniforms, and women in traditional dresses with umbrellas would be waiting on the side of the road for the bus.

Brief stop for snacks

Local produce, taro and kava
Yummy, fresh mangos!
Our ride for the next couple hours (aka, "water taxi")

We arrived at a village called Nukuseve, only accessible by boat.

Along the way all you could hear was the rumble of the outboard and splashing of water. We passed dozens of waterfalls, towering cliffs, dense rainforest and ferns, occasional locals and grazing farm animals.

Ready for adventure!
