Tamaki road follows along the harbor leaving Auckland central area and heading south towards Mission bay and beyond. The harbor is full of sailboats and little islands that you can take ferries to. Most of them are old volcanoes. (There are 50-something volcanoes surrounding Auckland..that was good planning!)
